Handwriting Practice Sheets for Adults: Printable and Custom
Printable handwriting practice sheets for adults in cursive or print, on smaller lines, using your own sentences or sample sentences with every letter.
Your printable sheet
The worksheet preview appears here as soon as the handwriting fonts load. It updates while you type, and every page prints exactly as shown.
What you type stays in this browser; we do not receive or save it. Cursive letters use Playwrite US Trad, a traditional United States cursive typeface, and print letters use a renamed copy of Andika, both under the SIL Open Font License. Letter shapes taught in a particular school program may differ slightly, so compare with your class model. To print, choose 100% scale or Actual size.
Practice at an everyday size
These sheets start at 3/8 inch lines, close to the size of ordinary notes, with a dark model sentence, one tracing row and two blank rows. The sample sentences each contain every letter of the alphabet, so a page touches the whole alphabet. Replace them with a quote, a list or anything you write often.
- Trace slowly once, then copy twice without looking at the trace.
- Keep the slant and letter height the same across the page.
- Move up to 1/2 inch lines if your letters feel cramped.
Cursive or print
Switch the style to print for neater block letters, or keep cursive for faster joined writing. Dotted letters give less help than gray ones once the shapes feel familiar.
Common questions
Can adults really improve their handwriting with worksheets?
Worksheets help most with consistency: the same letter height, slant and spacing. Short, regular practice with attention to those three things tends to make writing look neater.
What line size should an adult use?
Start at 3/8 inch for everyday writing or 1/2 inch if you want more room, then choose whichever size lets your letters sit on the baseline without crowding.
